Just as the speculations grew and leaked information made to the media, it didn’t come knocking the launch of Celerio diesel is scheduled on June 3, 2015.
Maruti Celerio which stirred a lot of admirations in India, especially due to its AMT gearbox offered on a car of such a low price, now once again is in a league to make headlines with the launch of its diesel variant. Actually, this time it’s fuel-economy that is bound to hit the nail right on its head. Stated to clock 27.62kpl, this number will make the new Maruti diesel car to emerge as the India’s highest returns on a single litre of fuel.
The bay of Celerio diesel is bound to get strapped by a 793cc two-cylinder unit which will send out the max power of 47bhp and peak torque of 125Nm, after mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Reportedly, Celerio diesel will offer three trims – Ldi, VDi and ZDi – to choose from. Thus, on outer a badge of DDIS125 will make the differentiation, whereas rest of the feature and equipment list is expected to get carried over, except for the addition of ABS in VDi trim which is absent in VXi.
However, strong speculations are up for a diesel AMT Celerio also, but nothing concrete came out as of now from the development.
