One of Maruti’s best selling cars to now cost Rs.25k lower than what it was. The Ciaz was launched barely 10 months back in October2014 and had been doing pretty well since then. But in July this year sales of this particular car saw a dramatic slide. It only sold 2000 units.
This Rs.25,000 discount could well be a fallout of that, but we can’t say that for sure now. The sales drop could also be because Maruti had focused all its energy on the recently launches S-Cross crossover and now Maruti wants to again focus on its earlier products like Ciaz.
It could also mean that Maruti wants clear out older stock of the Ciaz as soon as possible and it may well be that it is planning to bring a facelifted version of the same in the Indian market. But it’s all just in the realm of speculation as of now. Nothing can be said for sure.
