The trend of adding trims to the car for extending product lineup has simply made the carmaker to continue in 2015. Maruti Ciaz, the car made enough havoc for other to stay aware of it in sedan segment got kitted with one more variant in the lineup. This Delhi based carmaker launched the Ciaz Z+ trim in India for a starting price of Rs 9.08 lakh.
For such a denomination the carmaker gives away its buyers a voice-command infotainment system that includes a 7-inch touchscreen. The screen doubles up as display for reverse parking camera navigation system. Leather on steering-wheel and gear-knob makes up to the standard list here. Projector headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear AC vents, steering mounted controls, electrically adjustable outside mirrors, keyless entry and start-stop are also amongst the standard features. Rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and dual-front airbags too comes with this package for no additional penny.
Both the trims of petrol and diesel go along with it. For the Zxi+ (petrol) it comes priced at Rs 9.08 lakh and for Zdi+ (diesel) the costing falls lucrative at Rs 10.37 lakh.
Now, after the launch, Ciaz falls lucrative in four trim levels, where the Z (O) is escaladed from the list (V, V+, Z and Z (O) when launched) in order of making way for the aforesaid variants.
Honda City, a one of its major rival is on the spearhead of facing the heat from this launch, with V and VX trims dolled with 5-inch display for almost the same price tag. However, by launching another trim in the lineup doesn’t guarantees the success of Ciaz. Above all, it still has a long way to go.
