For a long time now the market has been flooded with the speculation about the new Maruti Alto 800. Now as the car has already reached all the Maruti Dealerships across the country and the pre-bookings have been started, Maruti Suzuki India has revealed the first set of the official images of the new upcoming Alto 800, quite before the scheduled 16th October launch.
The car is quite similar to what have really been speculated earlier. This new model will be replacing the older Alto but the Alto K10 will be sold as it is. The company has already started clearing the stocks for the old Alto.
The Alto 800 would be priced at around Rs.2.5 to 3 lakh, which means it is not a sub 2 lakh hatch to compete with the Nano. Maruti As far as the features are concerned, the new car will be offering quite lot of exciting features like power windows, dual-air bags, CNG kits and other, which will make it a great option in its price range.
The Alto 800 will be powered by the similar 795cc 3 cylinder 12 valve petrol engine that is used in the current Alto. The transmission will be a 5-speed manual one that will churn out a maximum power of 47.5 bhp and a mileage of about 22 kmpl. The option of the CNG variant gives it a competitive edge over the other vehicles. However one will have to pay about 40 to 50 thousand more for the same.
