Maruti Suzuki India, will launch one of the most awaited hatchbacks of its lineup-the Celerio, tomorrow on 10th of November. The Celerio was launched back in 2014 and had been an immediate success for Maruti Suzuki as it was showcased as the “Extra Large Small Car”, which it was and it delivered steady sales for the brand until they discontinued the product in 2020, to launch the all new Celerio this year. Bookings for the Celerio had already begun last month and now the brand is all set to launch the Celerio tomorrow, you book the Celerio with a booking amount of just Rs. 11,000/-.
Maruti Suzuki has been known for their reliable and fuel efficient engines. The manufacturer is once again branding the upcoming Celerio, as ‘India’s Most Fuel-Efficient Petrol Car’. Considering this statement, we are expecting the Celerio to use the K-series engines and be offered in two engine options, the 1.0L Three Cylinder & the 1.2 L Four Cylinder engine. With the use of the K- Series engine, the brand claims we can expect a fuel efficiency of around 26 Km/l. The Celerio will be offered in both manual & automated manual transmissions, as the AMT’s were one of the highest selling variants in its segment.
The Celerio is said to share the chassis architecture with the Baleno and the Swift, making it longer, wider and taller in dimensions than before. The spy shots and the official image sources from the Maruti Suzuki, tells one thing very clearly, that this Celerio is not just a mere facelift and the manufacturer is actively taking steps forward to transition from the design language being used in the past into the new-gen design of curves and sleeks.
The front facia is now updated with new bumpers and headlamps. The black grille in front is oval in shape with chrome accents extending till the headlamps, providing a wider look to the grille and the bumper. The fog lamp housing is intriguing and bigger than before, but we’re not sure whether it would be offered in a blacked out finish or a standard one.
In terms of interiors, we expect the Celerio to receive industry standard features like the touchscreen infotainment integrated with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto and hosts of comfort features. The Steering wheel of the Celerio is also expected to be borrowed from the new generation hatchbacks, the Swift or the Baleno, with steering mounted controls adding to the driving comfort.
We expect the prices of the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio, to start around Rs. 4.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
