Yes, it’s true; Maruti Suzuki India had ended the production of Swift and Dzire. But don’t worry that is said only for the Gurgaon manufacturing facility. Production of both the model plates will now be shifted to Manesar unit from 15th June 2013.
The carmaker is terming the reason as modification in assembly line for this strategic step, but looking at the sales figures it doesn’t seems so.
Specifically terming the numbers, Swift was sold in more than 20,000 units during May 2012 but in May 2013 sales were dipped tremendously to 14,353 units. Meanwhile, Dzire too had fled downward from 19,446 units in April 2013 to 12,548 units in June 2013.
Hopefully, we all can see what the pricing game that Ford had played with EcoSport, and Honda with the brand image of Brio based sedan Amaze. Whilst there is also another one in the market who is sneaking up some of the numbers very silently and that is none other than Chevrolet Sail. In fact, it is no shocking that Chevy’s newly launched sedan is doing well enough to get itself tagged in the country’s top three selling car, alongside EcoSport and Amaze.
But right now there is no information about Maruti’s respective model plates getting ploughed back to the Gurgaon facility. Yet as soon as any of the updates will reap, without wasting any moment an article on the same will be published by us on our portal. Stay tuned!
