Maruti Suzuki has been dominating the hatchback segment in India for a very long time; however it’s facing a stiff competition now. The automaker is looking at new products installed with new-to-the-class technology to woo customers. And we leave it to the company to decide its vehicle design for India and talk about its internals. Maruti Suzuki Palette testing unit that’s has been spotted in India is propelled by a 600cc engine, which is good for producing 54PS of power with 63 newton meters of torque.
The success of Celerio has inspired the Maruti to consider adding more technology to their hatchback models, which includes start/stop technology and petrol and diesel powerplants. Test mules of Suzuki models from Japan have been doing the rounds of the facility in Manesar, but some of the technology that these cars are equipped with are being tested for their compatibility with the varying climatic conditions found in India. Along with Palette, the company is also testing Suzuki WagonR.
The Palette’s tall boy looks remains unchanged from its Japanese roots, and is strangely reminiscent of the WagonR. How big a success it becomes, will depend on its timing of launch and pricing.
