After several hundred spy shots bombarding the internet, the Maruti Suzuki Ritz facelift has been caught undisguised. Just weeks after the debut of A-Star facelift and all-new Swift, Maruti Suzuki is planning the launch of its Ritz hatchback, that has undergone a midlife refresh.
Maruti Suzuki launched the Ritz about three years back, and the facelifted hatchback comes out more aggressively with significant changes made on the front. It receives redesigned hood with wider grille and reworked fog lamp surroundings. However, Maruti Suzuki Ritz facelift has no major changes at its rear.
There is no word on the powerplant yet, and we expect the Ritz facelift to continue with the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and the 1.3-litre Fiat Multijet diesel engine. Maruti Suzuki will however, retune the engine to deliver better fuel economy. We also speculate that Maruti may offer a four-speed automatic variant of the Maruti Suzuki Ritz facelift.
Currently, the Maruti Suzuki Ritz is positioned below the Swift in B+ segment hatch. However, post budget the price of the Ritz facelift is expected to be steeper and it will not be easy for Maruti Suzuki to position the new hatch.
