It’s obvious with the Maruti to paint their every model with the same successfully stroked brush. After the responses of Maruti Celerio AMT automaker is reported to be in the line of developing Wagon R AMT. It will be slotted in the premium variant of line-up. Apparently, if that’s the case then conventional Wagon R will not be the benefiter, the ‘Wagon R Stingray’ edition to be the only car for deriving this add-on.
Wagon R comes powered by 1.0-litre K10 petrol engine which in the upcoming trim will be mated to the Celerio’s 5-speed automated manual gearbox. The same is also seen on Alto K10 automated versions.
Expectedly, the AMT Wagon R will be priced premium by Rs 30,000-35,000 over the manually operated trim.
Going by the numbers, Celerio AMT is going through a waiting period of 45 days which is been reduced from 6 months during the earlier days of launch. It seems the new Alto may go viral over the AMT gearbox posing one of the cheapest automatic cars available in India.
