Maserati Confirms Levante SUV To Launch In 2015

Maserati has the range of newbies coming into showrooms very soon.

Earlier, the Alfieri concept was reported to go into production in coupe and convertible versions both. The new GranTourismo too was in the line to be headed into the manufacturing bay.

Within no time, now, it is reported, the SUV too is in the line of reaching the showrooms soon.

As per reports, this Italian carmaker has confirmed the SUV/crossover Levante is going to making debut by end of the next year (2015).

In the concept form automaker has named it as Kubang based on the platform of Ghibli. But under the guise of production-specific, Q4 four-wheel drive system will be planted to it. The 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine to power the 410bhp, and a 3.8-litre V8 will be deployed to see the rating of 530bhp odo in Italian fashion.

For the diesel side, it could be a 3.0-liter V6 producing 271bhp at the best.

All the aforesaid machines are expected to be mated to 8-speed automatic transmission with traction being delivered on both the axles.

Mirafiori factory of Turin, Italy, is cited to roll-out the Levante, wherein the right-hand-drive is quashed in the pipeline to launch by 2016 in the international market.
