Mercedes-Benz is gearing up for the launch of its short-radius, load-carrier, commercial vehicle. Dubbed, the Antos will be revealed at the Commercial Vehicle IAA in September as a 2013 model. And the German auto-giant has teased the first images of the upcoming vehicle.
It is designed for full-fledge load carrying capacity across short distances. The 2013 Mercedes Antos will be based on a 67 with a range of wheelbase options from 2650 mm to 6700mm. This variety is offered depending on the load carrying capacity and torque output of the Mercedes Benz truck. Some of the variants are announced as the Antos Loader (built for hauling heavy cargo) and Antos Volumer (built for maximum cargo capacity).
In terms of dimensions, the Antos is 2.3 meters wide, with option of a long and short variant. Don’t expect high-class interiors, but from the teaser images we can translate the elegant center console and wider instrument panel.
Depending upon different jobs, the Mercedes Antos will be offered with 13 different engine options, with horses ranging from 235 bhp to 503 bhp. Tranny option includes a PowerShift transmission.
