A for Adrenaline, A for Attack, A for Awesome, and now the Mercedes Benz says A for A Class to India. This is what the Germans have positioned their newbie all around. Compact, powerful, stylish and yet futuristic, are the words that we have uttered when saw this bug on the launch pad. In the era of changing scenario, when the youths are preferring to drive their vehicle on own, BMW and Audi already rolled out their product in India for this respective segment, Mercedes Benz as a late entrant now made debut with its A Class, compressed in the version of 1.6L petrol and 2.2L diesel, both given away with 4 cylinders each.
Naming them, it was learnt the petrol version is tagged as A 180 Sport whereas the oil burner as A 180 CDI Style. Both of them are assimilated with 7G-DCT automated 7 speed Dual Clutch Transmission, 14.7 cm infotainment display system, sporty steering wheel and moreover the AMG driven paddle shifters. Even most of the interiors are also borrowed from the SLS AMG itself. Lending a comment for this, the top designer of MB says, one can also practice their F1 type of sweeps on A Class due to its aerodynamics, and ‘award winning design’. Safety features are also not degraded, keeps on boosting confidence for every corner. The A Class is said to be bestowed with all the five senses and it yields the maximum number of security whenever needed. The ‘diamond shaped pigmentation’ on front grille is the ‘most poised flash’ that makes this hatch to stand differently than others in the horizon. The dropping lines all over and a beefed up C pillar with a lot of muscles wrapped around it, makes it a clear winner amongst all. Meanwhile, one can also see a coupe-resembling looks from many angles due to the same as said (design and aerodynamics).
However, priced at Rs. 21,93,500 for the A 180 CDI Style and Rs. 22,73,500 for the A 180 Sport (ex showroom Mumbai), the A Class sits in perfectly over the tripod of B Class, Audi Q3 and BMW X1. The prices we think are the only trump card that the automaker had played on this new model plate, which is said to be the introductory bands for them; whilst of a massive sunroof as a standard fitment for the convertible type of feeling to derive from most.
One must be thinking, what the party type of theme in the TVC is related to this (A Class)? Hence, the answer given to us by automaker is the “Boot Space”, which is enough to store everything for a night out, and also the dazzling diamonds on the front grille for additional glam!
“2013 is the year of offensive for Mercedes Benz India and the A Class launch reiterates promise of bringing the most fascinating cars for our valued customers in India,” concluded Mr. Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO for Mercedes Benz India at the launch.
