As we had reported earlier, Mercedes Benz has today launched their S 63 AMG sedan in India at a starting price of Rs.2.53 crore (ex-showroom Bengaluru). The sedan will be brought to India through the CBU route. That’s why the price of the sedan is towards the higher end of the spectrum.
The S 63 comes powered by a behemoth of engines – a 5.5-liter twin-turbo power source that can produce 577bhp of max power and 900Nm of max torque. Incidentally, this engine also powers the S 63 coupe. The engine is mated to an AMG Speedshift 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. The S 63 AMG will have different drive modes – Sports, Controlled and Manual as well as having Magic Body Control feature of Mercedes.
With all this power under its hood, the S 63 AMG sedan can gallop from to 100kmph in mere 4.4 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250kmph.
As a premium sedan, the S 63 AMG looks pretty muscular. The car gets 19-inch alloy wheels, AMG spec body kit, quad exhaust etc. The interiors, on the other hand, are somewhat identical to the standard S-Class. Except for the Nappa leather upholstery and carbon fiber trims, the interior of the S 63 AMG mirrors that of the S-Class.
This is Mercedes Benz’s 10th launch this year and the 9th AMG to be introduced in India.
