Mercedes Benz has launched two new cars for the Indian market – S63 AMG and the S500 coupe. Delhi ex-showroom price of two cars have been fixed at Rs.2.6 crore and Rs.2 crore for the S63 AMG and the S500 coupe respectively. Both the cars will be sold in India as Completely-Built-Up (CBU) unit through official Mercedes dealerships.
The S53 AMG has been fitted with a 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8 engine capable of putting out a peak power of 585bhp at 5500 rpm and a peak torque of 900Nm between 2250 to 3750 rpm. In order to make it look different from the S-Class, the S63 AMG has been given a new and revised front fascia, a rear diffuser, side skirting and chromed twin exhaust pipes.
The S500 coupe, on the other hand is basically a two door variant of the four-door S500. It is powered by the same 4.7-liter twin turbocharged V8 powertrain capable of churning out a peak power of 453bhp at 5250rom and a peak torque of 700Nm at 1800rpm.
