According to a recent report, Mercedes Benz will soon increase their range of S-Class models by introducing more engine choices. For the S300L entry level car, a V6 2996cc engine which will deliver 228 bhp is possible, which is estimated to cost Rs. 70 lakh approx.
The S300L car will be priced lesser than the present S350L which has been discontinued recently, by a considerable margin. The S300L seems practical for a chauffeur driven vehicle, which will provide a tough competition for the BMW 7 Series and Audi A8.
Mercedes will also strengthen their S-Class lineup in the following months with their new S350 CGI which will be provided with the newest V6 direct injection engine. Because of this, the power is expected to increase from 272 bhp to 302 bhp for the standard variant.
Rounding up Merc’s petrol line-up is their S500 CGI which delivers a whopping 429 bhp so that it blends both grace and pace unlike any other Indian luxury saloon. In the previous fiscal year, the S-Class managed to sell 1131 units. Mercedes now hopes to increase the sales of its S-Class model with the help of their new engine range by 40 per cent.
