European businessmen’s need of the hour is now blessed by Mercedes-Benz. The desire of travelling in ultimate luxury with 4×4 capabilities during winter or snowy times on unpaved roads is now feasible with Vito 4×4, as company launched it in Germany for a price of €36,120. Vito 4×4 in its home country, Germany, is based on the rear-wheel drive variant where additionally engineers fitted the 4ETS Electronic Traction System. This new 4ETS tech is said to brake the wheel individually which loses grip, and transfers the power to wheels with traction ultimately giving the dynamics of an all-wheel drive car. Such an action by 4ETS is taken in milliseconds, which as per to the engineers: 4ETS offers the same effects of three differential locks. Hence, Mercedes says, this system is almost near to the AWD system fitted in other cars of its lineup.
At the launch, Mercedes-Benz unveiled Vito 4×4 with 2.15-litre four-cylinder engine option producing 190PS of max power and 440Nm of peak torque. All the traction to central axle, that further transfers it to both the axles, is passed via a 7G-TRONIC PLUS transmission enabling top-speed of 199km/h alongside the fuel-economy of 6.4 L/100km, with CO2 emissions of 169 g/km.
