Mercedes has revealed the new lineup that it will be launching in India this year. The first of the lot will be the next generation GL-Class full sized SUV, which is all set for a launch. The seven-seater GL inherits the styling from the M-Class and will be standing above it in the Mercedes product line-up.
The much anticipated diesel variant of the Mercedes Benz B-Class is likely to be revealed; most probably it will be hiring a 1.8 litre 134 bhp engine coupled with seven speed dual clutch gearbox. The new vehicle will add glamour to the B-class which currently offers only 1.6 litre turbo petrol version.
Mercedes Benz has also confirmed that it will be bringing its CLA-Class compact saloon to the Indian market. The saloon was revealed recently at the Detroit Motor Show in its production version. The CLA is the third vehicle based on the Mercedes’s new modular front vehicle architecture. Other vehicles to hire the same platform are B-Class and A-class. The new vehicle will be standing just below the C-class in the lineup.
Mercedes is also planning to launch the A-class in India by the summer of 2013. The new A-class will also support the same MFA architecture. The B-class was revealed only with the petrol engine but A-class will be offering both petrol and diesel variants. As A-class will be sharing its engine with the B-class it is expected to house an A180 petrol and A200 CDI version. It will also be getting the same high quality interiors like the B-class.
