MG Motors had one of the most well designed pavilion at Auto Expo 2020, The Motor Show.
There were quite a few announcements and a few launches including MG Marvel X, MG Vision I Concept, MG Gloster, MG G10, MG RC6, MG Hector Plus, MG ZS, MG E200 EV
At Auto Expo 2020, the carmaker also showcased a bunch of advanced vehicles across hatchback, sedans, and utility vehicle segments. Participating for the first time at the prestigious industry event, the showcase helped MG reinforce it as a future-forward brand with showcase of Marvel-X, Vision I Concept, E200 and eMG 6 amongst other.
Marvel X
Marvel X is part of MG’s focus on developing cutting-edge products with integrated Internet, Electric, and Autonomous capabilities. Its augmented reality (AR) maps, for instance, make navigation more precise and visual – allowing the vehicle to autonomously find a parking bay and park itself. The showcase highlights MG’s strong technological leadership with a product that is already on the road in key international markets.
Vision I concept
The Vision-i Concept is touted as “the world’s first 5G zero-screen smart cockpit” and is being developed as a category-defining vehicle that will be the best carrier for 5G travelling scenarios. The futuristic concept car comes equipped with multiple handsfree driving modes such as education, leisure, driving, sleeping or meeting.
MG Gloster
The name ‘GLOSTER’ pays homage to MG’s British genes and stands for being Bold, Sturdy, Reliable and Versatile. GLOSTER was a British jet-engine aircraft prototype & the name is a nod to great British engineering. With best-in-class features, a towering road presence, powerful capability, and luxurious interiors, the GLOSTER is designed to set new benchmarks in the Indian automotive space.
MG G10
The luxury full sized MPV: G10 is sold globally in markets such as Australia, New Zealand, Middle-East, South American countries including Chile, Peru and ASEAN such as Malaysia. It comes with various seating configurations, panoramic sunroof, touch-free smart sensing rear door and smart automatic sliding doors that deliver a more convenient experience for passengers. With no compromise on comfort, safety and in-cabin space, the G10 will redefine segment benchmarks.
MG RC6
MG Motor India showcased the RC-6 sedan in India at Auto Expo 2020. RC-6 comes with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine which makes 147PS and 245Nm. It is available in its home market of China with both a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed CVT.
MG Hector Plus
MG unveiled the Hector Plus (three-row Hector) at Auto Expo 2020. It features updated aesthetics along with an additional row of seats as it’s a 6-seater model with captain seats in the second row. However, a 7-seater version is in the pipeline and will be launched around Diwali 2020. The Hector Plus 6-seater is expected to go on sale in summer 2020.
MG ZS
The MG ZS showcased at the Auto Expo is based on the same platform as the eZS electric SUV but gets a facelift, and runs on turbo petrol power.
