It seems an explosion of MPVs are about to take place in India with multiple launches being readied. After Mahindra Marazzo and the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Mitsubishi is planning to bring its Xpander to India.
Mitsubishi’s India head, Uttam Bose mentioned to the media that as part of the company’s long term expansion plan the company is planning to bring the Eclipse Cross SUV and the Xpander MPV. But he also mentioned that these launches are still a couple of years away.
The Xpander is a seven-seater MPV which was revealed in 2017. It looks nothing like the MPVs in its class and comes with features not many MPVs are offering. A boxy design, square wheel arches and high ground clearance are just some of its design features.
On the inside, 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, keyless entry, steering-mounted audio controls, leather seats, a slide function for the rear bench and a reverse camera, among other things.
