A diesel hybrid Ciaz fitted with Suzuki’s famed SHVS technology has just been launched by Maruti in India and now news trickling in that the company will launch or outfit more such cars with this technology in the coming days. The reason for this is simple. Indians love cars that gives higher mileage and if anyone looks at the Ciaz hybrid’s mileage figure of 28.09kmpl then it becomes quite easy to understand why the company has taken such a step.
Now rumours going around the web suggest that the next car to get the SHVS could well be the Ertiga MPV. An updated version of the Ertiga MPV was recently unveiled in Indonesia. It is not clear whether or not the same version will be launched in India, but one thing is sure that the one coming to India would come equipped with things like 7-inch touchscreen SmartPlay Infotainment System and a few other things.
Another car that could potentially be fitted with the SHVS system is the Maruti Swift Dzire. The Dzire is currently being tested with an AMT transmission and in the future can also get the SHVS. Currently Dzire’s mileage figure stands at 26.59kmpl and with SHVS the mileage can even surpass that of Ciaz’s.
