Mr. Rajesh Singh has been appointed as the new Vice President (Sales, Marketing & After-Sales) of General Motors India and will take charge on 1st January 2013. Rajesh Singh will report to the Managing Director & President of GM India at the Corporate Office in Gurgaon. He will be handling responsiblities regarding Vehicle Sales, Servicing & Marketing (VSSM) function of GM India.
GM India seems to be excited on the appointment of Mr.Rajesh Singh. Lowell Paddock, Managing Director and President, GM India said “GM regards India as a significant growth opportunity and we are delighted to have Rajesh Singh leading our marketing, sales and service operations to accelerate our momentum here”.
Paddock is also confident that Rajesh Singh’s vast experience of two decades in Sales, Service and Marketing will help GM India to accelerate the number of Chevys on the Indian roads, and will also make a remarkable presence in the industry.
Holding a PGDM from IIM, Calcutta and B.Tech. from IIT, Delhi, Rajesh Singh joined Maruti in 1992 and thus acquired significant positions at various levels in the field of sales, marketing and network development. During the early days of 2012, he joined Havells India Ltd. as Senior Vice President (Sales & Marketing).
Rajesh Singh will step in the shoes of Ashwani Muppasani who had assumed the VSSM leadership role in August 2012 on an interim basis. Ashwani Muppasani is also serving GM India as Vice President of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. Muppasani is one of the strong pillars behind the successful launch of Chevrolet Sail U-VA.
