Peugeot has now officially revealed the images of its new 2014 308, which according to the company is the car that will revitalize its presence in the ultra-compact family hatchback segment. The car now looks more premium that the earlier generation and the company claims that the new vehicle is better in terms of efficiency, quality and drivability. The new generation Peugeot 308 will be making its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show on 10th of September 2013, while the sales will be starting from the January 2014 in the UK market.
Speaking on the new design, Design Director, Gilles Vidal said that the new Peugeot 308 has pure technological exterior design that represents the high strength and quality. With the compact design and length of 4.25 m and well balanced proportions, the new 308 reveals a classy presence. The front has been dominated by the classy company’s floating grille design with the strong lightning signature. The compact full LED lamp in the front comes as the standard. The high quality design can also be seen at the rear portion with the three Peugeot (lion) claws that has been drawn by the LED lamps at the rear.
According to Vincent Devos (Product manager for new 308) the inside of the car has redefined the styling. The thing is completely new in the world of hatchbacks. The cockpit is intuitive and innovative.
The product designers and engineers have developed the interior of the New 308 around the i-cockpit concept. The whole cockpit has been arrange in such a way to provide intuitive and relaxing the driver so that he could focus directly on the way instead of the tons of buttons and features. The compact steering with the head-up instrument layout provides the information easily and safely by looking over the wheel rather than through the wheel.
Another prominent feature of the New 308’s cabin is the 9.7 inch touch screen interface that removes much of the buttons and physical switches. The new size can be a trend setter in the segment and it helps in bringing together all the infotainment controls all at one place for the ease of driver.
The new vehicle is the finest example of the brand’s up-market approach. The thought was initiated a couple of years ago and was recently seen with the 208 and 2008.
