The upcoming 2017 Audi Q5 has been spotted going through rigorous testing in Spain. Although heavily camouflaged, the images reveal quite a lot about the car.
The new Q5 in these images looks smarter and sharper compared to its previous version where it was more curvy and bulgy at places. The front fascia of the car looks new and more similar to the one that Q7 has. Other changes in the front of the car include larger air intakes and hexagonal frontal grille. The rear end of the car gets newly designed taillights and a new bumper. Sides of the car remains more or less unchanged.
The Q5 is expected to be lighter by almost 100kgs since it would use Audi new and famed MLB platform. As far as the engine is concerned, it is expected that the car will get same engines as the upcoming Audi A4 i.e. a four-cylinder diesel and a six-cylinder petrol engine.
On the inside, the upcoming Q5 is expected to have a virtual cockpit, Audi’s latest multi-media interface, tablet based entertainment system on the back and Matrix LEDs. A four-wheel drive e-Tron plug-in hybrid can also not be ruled out.
