Festive season for Mahindra seems a bit delayed, but not too late yet. After the Special Limited Edition Scorpio in the recent past, latest to the repertoire added by Indian carmaker is the new entry-level variant of SUV XUV500, dubbed as “W4”.
Though this variant of XUV has been waiting since months to capture the market in the pricing point near to a million, we guess its price tag of Rs. 10.83 lakh (Ex-showroom Mumbai) seems quite lucrative to lure footfalls to the showrooms.
Hence, the W4 comes shredded off by some whistles and bells than that of its high-end siblings, but the looks on outer doesn’t reveal so, means one will be driving the same XUV on outer which the other XUV owners are driving.
Lading only the front wheel drive system, W4 XUV500 finds itself lugging a 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine of 140bhp and 330Nm of torque. The 2.2 litre engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission and a 5th generation Variable Geometry Turbocharger, which takes the XUV500 from 0-60kmph in just 5.4 seconds; and also been delivering the mileage of 15.1 kms per litre (as per ARAI).
The XUV500 is now made available in 4 models: W8 All Wheel Drive (AWD), W8 Front Wheel Drive (FWD), W6 FWD and W4 FWD
