New Euro Spec EcoSport unveiled by Ford sans rear mounted spare wheel

The Ford EcoSport has been hugely successful in India since its launch and will now be seen minus a rear mounted spare wheel for the first time. The design change will be made on the EcoSport that is for the European spec while in the Indian version the car will continue to have a rear end spare wheel.

However, this is not the only design revision in the car. As per Ford, they have helped reduce noise harshness and vibration in the car and have added thicker and better sound dissolving inputs in the dashboard as well as the doors of the car. The driving dynamics too is expected to see a definite jump with a stiffer rear torsion beam as well as slightly lower ride height and revised damping.

Coming to the big change though, Ford claims that the rear mounted spare has been done away with in order to give easier access to the boot space and the car has a new rear bumper as well. A new light dimming function has been added to the car as well and the chrome surround rings add to the overall elegance of the compact SUV.

This though, is only a smaller announcement. Ford is going to give us a full lowdown on the new and improved EcoSport at the Frankfurt Motor Show so you can be guaranteed that the company has big surprises up its sleeve for both the Indian as well as International market.
