Photos of the upcoming Mercedes Benz G-Class have been leaked on the web ahead of the car’s unveiling at the Detroit Auto Show. Changes to the car compared to its previous version are minimal. The biggest changes that one can see are the revised headlights and the new grille. On the inside, changes are also minimal but stark.
A new instrument cluster has been added along with a new display that stretches from the instrument cluster to the middle of the dashboard. The screen serves both as digital dashboard and infotainment screen. But it seems this feature will only be available on higher trim levels. Interior of the car has an uncanny resemblance to the Mercedes S-Class.
Apart from these exterior and interior changes, the G-Class will also receive substantial mechanical changes which includes a probable turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol unit and parent company Mercedes-Benz’s new 2.9-litre in-line six-cylinder diesel. Engines will be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The new Mercedes G-Class will be revealed on the 15th of January which is the first day of the Detroit Auto Show.
