Porsche have upped the ante in the high-end hybrid wagon market. The German carmaker has confirmed its new Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo range will include the potent Turbo S E-Hybrid. And if you think an all-electric Tesla Model X is expensive, then think again when it comes to this Porsche wagon which is a plug-in hybrid.
The system combines a 4-litre V8 petrol engine with electric motors to produce 500kW of power and 850Nm of torque while sipping fuel at just 3-litres per 100km. Porsche also claims the hybrid wagon can do the 0-100kmh sprint in just 3.4secs and 200kmh in 11.9 secs. Top speed is 310kmh. It can be driven on electric power alone for 49km with a then top speed of 140kmh.
As standard, the Sport Turismo Turbo S E-Hybrid comes with 21-inch alloy wheels, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and torque vectoring. There’s also a rear, limited-slip differential and ceramic composite brakes, as well as adaptive three-chamber air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management
