Renault has unveiled its budget electric hatchback, the Renault Kwid K-ZE. First showcased at the Paris Motor Show last year, the car is all set to go on sale in China later this year.
The City K-ZE is based on the heavily modified CMF-A platform which also underpins the Renault Kwid and the Datsun RediGo in India.
The platform has been modified primarily to accommodate the City K-ZE’s electric powertrain. When it comes to design, the K-ZE looks like a modified Kwid with split headlights, redesigned front and rear bumper, new taillights, faux rear skid plate and new alloy wheels.
On the inside, the car gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. The car is said to have a range of 250kms on full battery and the battery charges up to 80 percent in just 50 minutes.
