The official photos and details of new SEAT Leon have been released prior to the Paris Motor Show. The new Seat Leon is a Golf-sized hatchback with superfluous style. After Audi A3, it has become the second car to employ the VM group’s latest and lightweight new MQB platform.
Leon has a new-fangled engine, a lower kerbweight, and a radical new look inside as well as on the outside. This is a five-door car with hidden rear handles replacing old standard door pulls. The 3 rd generation Leon will be available as a three-door and an estate.
All three models will be released at a time. The five-door model will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in September while the three-door in Geneva upcoming March. After sometimes, the estate also known as the Leon ST will be unleashed in 2013
It is a stronger, lower and wider hatchback along with a longer wheelbase compared to previous one. The car has stunning appearance, aggressive stance and big cabin space. It has a sharp and taut body inspired by SEAT’s IBE concept. The car looks stunning with two horizontal lines where one is creased down the middle of the bonnet. Its flat-edged wheelarches offer a crisp and contemporary look.
New Seat Leon features 18-inch wheels, electric sunroof and optional LED lights. This racy FR has a soft-touch dash and a center console that’s angled towards the driver.
Leon is a 148bhp 2.0 TDI diesel, but eight engines will be available in 2013 including a flagship 181bhp 2.0 TDI and a 1.6-liter TDI with either 89bhp or 104bhp. Turbo petrol options incorporate a 1.2 TSI with 85bhp or 104bhp, a 120bhp 1.4 TSI and a 178bhp 1.8 TSI. A 138bhp 1.4 TSI with cylinder deactivation will be sold as well.
The company will officially announce car’s prices, which is expected to be around £15,000, about £2,000 less than VW’s next Golf at the Paris show.
