Hindustan Motor has revealed an all new variant of its sedan Mitsubishi Cedia. The all new Mitsubishi Cedia, also known as Cedia Select 2012, hasbeen priced at Rs.8.90 lakhs (Ex- showroom Delhi). The Cedia comes with a 1999 cc petrol engine coupled with 5-speed manual transmission which delivers 175 Nm of torque at 4250 rpm. The Cedia offers top speed of about 196 kmph and can attain 0 to 100 kmph in just 10.6 sec.
The new Cedia Select is available in three colors – red, black and white. However, the new version has not incorporated any serious changes over the previous Cedia Sport, but it has got a new 7-inch Mapmyindia android based carpad that allows driver to make calls, surf net or watch TV while he is on the wheel. The new Cedia Select also comes with the four-speaker Kenwood DVD player along with a 6-inch touch sensitive screen.
The DVD player is compatible with GPS, Bluetooth and USB devices. The other features are more or less similar to the existing variant, which is however priced quite lesser than the new one at Rs. 8.24 lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi). After getting some serious hardware and feature upgrades, the new Mitsubishi Cedia Select 2012 is ought to offer more competition to the existing key leaders in the segment. The segment is currently being ruled by the names like Honda, Nissan Sunny, Volkswagen Vento and others.
Still there are some flaws that could hamper the market demand of the new Mitsubishi Cedia.Carrying petrol engine inside the hood is not a very good moveas recent market trends and the sales figures continues to show that people are now moving towards diesel variants in this segment.
