According to a report by Autocar India, Nissan will bring the next gen Micra in India by 2019. The India-bound Micra design will be based on the European model and it will be underpinned by the CMF A plus platform.
It is also expected that India-bound Micra might get a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 106 hp of power. However, the hatchback misses out diesel engine. The unit will be mated to a five-speed manual and Nissan’s X-Tronic automatic gearbox as an optional.
The European model of the Micra is available with three engines options-1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and 0.9-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine.
The next-gen Micra will also get updates such as two-tone dashboard, rear spoilers, 16-inch alloy-wheels and 7.0-inch Nissan Connect touchscreen infotainment system. The safety features will include the ABS, dual airbags, reverse camera and rear parking sensors.
