Toyota Innova, the heartthrob of every MPV buyer in India is reported of getting radical styling for the new-generation model. The design will not remain quite distinct from the current Corolla Altis with sharp edges and flattened curves. As reported, the nose may make as a major part of the makeover.
The angle of windscreen will get raked than before, where the same flint may carry over to the rear. The refreshed C-pillar adds spice to the new look.
Overall design suggests it to look more of a private vehicle rather than a tourist van. Some votes of thanks must also go to the new platform underneath its skin. This new structure will provide the MPV a stiffer and lighter feature. Excitingly, the long wheelbase is also on list.
Power to the new Innova will come from a new engine instead of the 2.5-litre D-4D diesel unit. The upgrade version is speculated to power the output in two states of tune – 118bhp and 142bhp. The latter is used for the current-gen Fortuner 2.5 in India.
Hence, Toyota Innova is already a decade old in India and sells 60k units a year, which is ultimately a good sales figure for a car this brushed up. The new version is sure to kick the sales into a better perspective from now.
