A new GT-R prototype has been unveiled by Nissan in partnership with Italdesign. The unveiling marks the commemoration of 50 years of the GT-R and Italdesign. The car has been named GT-R50 and is based on the GT-R NIsmo. Design wise, much has been changed.
The roofline has been lowered a bit and dimensions have been extended. Gold highlights have been used extensively on the exterior. It is now powered by an improved version of the 3.8-litre V6 engine which now produces a peak output of 720hp, 120HP more than the latest GT-R Nismo. This boost in engine output has primarily been achieved because of the modifications done in the car’s intake and exhaust system.
It has also been fitted with race-spec turbochargers, a larger intercooler system, adjustable dampers, and heavy-duty crankshaft, pistons, bearings and connecting rods.
