Certain media reports seem to indicate that launch of the much awaited Nissan Kicks has been delayed. This may come as a surprise to many since only last month Nissan India President, Thomas Kuehl, stated that the Kicks will arrive in India soon. Lack of localisation has been cited as the reason for the delay.
In India, the Kicks will rival Hyundai Creta and to keep cost low, Nissan is using the B0 platform in the Indian Kicks. Internationally, the Kicks is underpinned by the V platform. There will no design differences though. As far as engine options are concerned, the Indian Kicks will offer two different engine variants – 1.5-liter H4K petrol and 1.5-liter K9k Diesel. Incidentally, both these engines are used by the Renault Captur. The petrol engine produces 106 PS and 142 Nm of torque. The diesel engine develops 110 PS and 240 Nm of torque.
