We all know that Nissan and Renault have a partnership for the Indian market and they have lately been engaged in badge engineering many of their existing cars. Renault found success in pasting a new fascia on Nissan’s Sunny and the Micra, in order to give them a Renault touch. It seems that Nissan decided to follow suit and launch a new car based on Renault’s upcoming Duster SUV.
Renault had unveiled the Duster SUV in January at the Auto Expo in New Delhi. Since then, many test mules of the car have been spotted across the country.
Renault has almost finished preparing the car for the Indian market and is in the process of giving final touches. The Duster SUV is expected to be launched very soon. Meanwhile, it seems that Nissan has already begun work on developing a more “Nissaned” version of Renault’s SUV. Although, there is no word yet about the possible name for the “Nissaned” version of Renault’s Duster SUV, it is likely that it will come with a softer front end, typical of Nissan’s vehicles, which will not be as “bold” as that of Renault’s SUV. The Japanese carmaker is expected to launch its own version of the Duster SUV a few months following the launch of the original.
Renault India had recently posted the details of the Renault Duster SUV on its site, claiming that the “sleek and stylish” SUV, with its trendy and compact design will revolutionise the concept of SUVs in India.
Some of the features that will be offered in the upcoming Renault Duster SUV include:
- 4 Speaker Music System with USB, AUX-IN & Bluetooth Connectivity.

- Keyless entry.
