However, ‘the ongoing slot of SUV seems need fully composed of the products made available to us’, but the Nissan doesn’t think the way as said above. Well, to brief up its portfolio in the upcoming markets, it is considering the Qashqai for the India launch, says the Autocar-India in one of its recent reports.
Already dwindling the roll out of upcoming Renault Duster rival ‘Terrano’, which is slated to be unveiled on 20th August 2013, the Qashqai is said to sit above than the upcoming SUV in company’s repertoire.
Previously it was the Sylphy, a saloon of Nissan, who was targeted to take on the likes of Toyota Corolla in the pricing of Rs 12-20 lakh, but it had been dropped from the future prospectus due to lack of demand for such products in our ‘rapidly trending market’. If we aren’t wrong then the crossover Qashqai which is sold in Europe with the four-cylinder petrol and diesel options (including the 1.5L Renault driven K9k too) will debut here with the nearby likes to some of the clinching aspect of Renault Koleos. Though it will not be exactly a one from that series, but will pound the segment on an aggressive note, maybe in terms of pricing or something else.
If the green light is shown to Qashqai, then it may see the doors of Indian showrooms by next year or so.
