Stayed there in the hype of rendering arena for quite a while, now finally we all had heaved a sigh of relief when we saw the official sketch of Honda Brio based MPV which is released just hours before. This official revelation is concluded by P.T Honda Prospect Motor of Honda Indonesia who also says the global debut to be witnessed on 19th September at Indonesian International Motor Show in Jakarta.
Brio based MPV had been specifically designed for Asian market, no doubt that it will see the first launch in Indonesia itself to counter the effects of (Maruti) Suzuki Ertiga there.
Specifically for Indonesia, Japanese had contoured a 1.5L petrol engine which claims to be highly efficient, where for India we speculate the newly built 1.5L i-DTEC diesel by Honda would just do fine. However, petrol version too will be rolled out on our local shores, but hopefully the oil burners are in more demand than anything else on earth for our local audience.
Lending an official touch, Tomoki Uchida, President Director of P.T. Honda Prospect Motor said, “The new Honda MPV has been developed especially for the needs of customers and road characteristics in Indonesia. This model will also be locally produced in Indonesia as the first product of its new Second Plant in Karawang, scheduled to begin operation in early 2014. This makes the new Honda MPV a very special product for Honda in Indonesia.”
No matter what, till the global debut happens we expect more of the tweaks to come out soon, that will define the aspiring Japanese MPV in more detail.
