The electric two-wheeler industry in India is still at a very nascent stage, but one of the bigger companies in this field, Okinawa, has launched an electric scooter costing Rs.1.15 lakhs. The Okinawa i-Praise, as it is called, has already received around 450 advance bookings.
But the biggest news is that it has the Indian Navy amongst its first customers. When it comes to the i-Praise 160 – 180km range on a single charge. Fully charging the battery takes around 2-3 hours. The scooter weighs around 20-30 percent less than all other vehicles in its category.
