Very few out of the automobile cluster would know what is Pagani. Thankfully, the North American seems to be very much obvious about it and was needed officially in their land. Pagani is now launched in North America with the Huayra going on sale this region first.
The carmaker considers the North America as one of their biggest markets. The first six months of this year 40 per cent of Huayra sales have gone to the United States.
Commenting at the launch, Horacio Pagani, CEO and Chief Designer at Pagani Automobili, said, “We always knew that the demand for Pagani vehicles from the United States was very high. The Pagani Huayra was the company’s most ambitious project so far. Developing a high performance sportscar from scratch to be compliant with EU and US requirements was a challenge our engineers and designers faced with enthusiasm, to create a Pagani vehicle that could be enjoyed by virtually every potential customer, everywhere around the globe.”
Horacio Pagani is the man behind designing the two-door Huayra coupe. It is built in Modena, Italy. Power to it comes from a 6.0-liter V12 engine of a meaty 730 PS (537 kW) and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque. After mated to a seven-speed sequential transmission, the 1,350 kg (2,975 lbs) weighing supercar accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 370 km/h (230 mph). The car costs 955,000 EUR (1.3M USD).
