Polaris India Pvt. Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Polaris Industries Inc., and also the world leader in off-road and All-Terrain vehicles has donated five off road vehicles to Uttarakhand Government today for assisting the official authorities in carrying out the rescue operations fruitfully.
Uttarakhand state has been affected by flood very severely and had received donations from various corporate sources, in which Polaris India had also stood as one of them.
Specifically terming the vehicle’s name, Polaris has made the donation in form of one Sportsman Big Boss 6X6 800, one Sportsman 550 Hunter EPS, one RZR S 800 EFI and two Ranger 900 Diesel. The vehicles are handed over to Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Vijay Bahuguna at C.M.’s Residence, Dehradun.
In addition, the off-road and All-Terrain vehicle maker had also said to maintain those vehicles for a period of two years with full service and repair cost to be borne by the organization itself. No cost to be forwarded to the government’s expenditure repertoire.
“We are moved by the magnitude of the recent tragedy in Uttarakhand. With the entire network of roads in and around the states destroyed and non-existent now, apart from debris on the ground from thousands of destroyed homes, we feel that Polaris India can extend a hand of support to help expedite the relief operations. These specialized Off Road Vehicles will help in making these areas accessible,” said Mr Pankaj Dubey, MD, Polaris India.
Relating the donations of Polaris with the disastrous Uttarakhand scenario, Polaris vehicles are specially designed to maneuver on rough terrain where most of the vehicles fail to deliver their performance. These vehicles are widely used by defence, Para military forces & police, and disaster management, tourism and forest departments around the world.
Going extra mile with the donations, Mr. Dubey had also offered help to train the rescue and relief teams about the usage of the vehicles and educate them about its capabilities.
