Auto makers are busy showing off their various products at the ongoing Auto Expo in Delhi. Almost all the big automakers of the world are present here. But some not so well-known auto companies are also showing off their products with a hope to grab a share of this big auto pie that India holds for them. One of those companies is the Premier Automobile Ltd, which is showcasing its Rio compact SUV at the event. Check on Road Price
Premier is showcasing three different versions of the Rio compact SUV that it launched in 2011 to tap into the entry level SUV market in India. Now the Rio will have three engine options, from which two will be diesel and one will be petrol. The 1.2 liter petrol engine will be capable of producing 77PS, with a mileage of 15kmpl.
Another variant will have 1.5 liter indirect injection diesel engine that will deliver 65PS of power with a mileage of 16kmpl. The thrid and the last variant will be powered by a 1.3 liter multijet engine. The output and mileage figures for the multijet engine have not been revealed by the company. With all these variants on offer, Rio is all set to offer strong competition to the Ford Ecosport and the Maruti Maruti X Alpha SUVs.
The first two variants of the Rio will hit the market right after the end of the Auto Expo, but the multijet variant will only be available after April 2012. The price of the base model of the 1.2 liter Rio has been kept at Rs 4.7 lacs, while the higher end variants will cost Rs.6.35 lacs (ex-showroom Pune).
