Mahindra has revealed that the recently launched Mahindra Quanto SUV has received over 10,000 bookings within the two months of its launch. The SUV maker has also announced that it will be enhancing its production capacity at its Nasik plant to produce over 3,500 vehicles monthly as compared to the current capacity of about 2,500.
Commenting on the incredible response to the Quanto, Chief executive for automotive division, Mahindra & Mahindra, Pravin Shah said that the company is delighted to receive over 10000 booking over a mere period of 2 months and is thankful to the customers for this overwhelming response to their new vehicle. He also added that the response has strengthened their belief that Quanto will be the pioneer in creating a new category inside the SUV segment with its unique features and offerings.
He also said that M&M is confident in meeting the demand for Quanto and are in process for increasing the production capacity at the Nashik plant for the same. The Quanto has been designed and built completely by Mahindra and is based on the Ingenio platform and houses a 1.5 litre mCR100 engine that churns out about 100bhp.
