The rugged gets expensive. Range Rover, the emblem of off-road, is now launched in the most luxurious form across India for an expensive price tag of Rs 3.75 crore (diesel). The petrol version falls at Rs 3.85 crore, where all the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
Dubbed as Autobiography Black edition, Range Rover with these most desirable trims on board is based on the long-wheelbase version. The first glimpse caught by the world was at Los Angeles Auto Show in 2013.
As falling for this very niche price tag, Autobiography Black edition means serious business of luxury inside the cabin, but it doesn’t means outer shell is deprived of unique matters. The distinct finish on front grille, 21 or 22 inch alloy wheels of aluminium and gloss finish, chrome strip on tail gate and redesigned tail lamps are there to name.
Talking the actual business, cabin of Autobiography Black Range Rover is draped in leather on every detail. It is the front passenger who enjoys massage function, where the driver can experience special treatment in its seat by means of 18-way adjustment. Rear passengers now can lie in the lap of luxury far better than the standard Range Rover due to extended wheelbase. Lumber massage function, calf rest and more reclining angle than before add worth to it.
Buyers can choose between a 4.4-litre SDV8 diesel engine of 335bhp and 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol of 503bhp. Both machines come along with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Hence, Range Rover Autobiography Black Edition is the most expensive SUV available in India.
