Got hands on the New Nissan Micra yesterday, now we learnt that Renault is getting the heat from Japanese just after the launch, and hence to counter its effect, they had rolled in Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor in the new TVC of hatchback Pulse. The new ad campaign seems planted for abolishing the brand image of girly looks in its hatchback segment, and setting it as a new tempting benchmark of masculinity in the replacement of same.
Anil Kapoor is the new face of macho-ism in our film industry, and undoubtedly he had given that mind blowing expressions too for the upmarket quotient of car.
Renault Pulse is one of the brief answers to Nissan-Renault alliance which is signed to yield technology sharing between both the organizations. French had first introduced Pulse in the diesel avatar only, and then they recently landed the petrol one for same. Well, to say about Nissan, they were having the petrol as well as diesel both since initial days of launch, but recently they have added the CVT gearbox to its hatchback. It will be interesting to see whether the Renault is also going to take the same step of going automatic with Pulse, or will rely heavily on the strong shoulders of Anil Kapoor itself. In short, both the carmakers have switched to CVT in the sedan segment too i.e. Sunny and Scala, so we hope the hatchback segment may not be an exception for them.
