Renault launched its Pulse hatchback at this year’s Auto Expo which concluded just a few days back. It also proudly showcased its Duster SUV at its stall at the Auto expo. But it seems that Renault has more to offer to its Indian consumers this year. Rumors are rife that the French automaker is planning to launch an entry-level sedan in the Indian market by the end of this year.
Within a year of entry into the market as a solo player, India has become one of the major growth markets for Renault outside Europe. Despite the Eurozone crisis, Renault has managed to register an overall growth of 3.6 percent. It recorded a growth of 19.2 percent outside of Europe, of which India was a key growth market.
With the launch of the Pulse diesel, the company has made it amply clear that it is trying to reposition itself in the market based on its strength, which is diesel technology. From now on, the company will have diesel variant of every vehicle it launches in the market.
The Renault Duster will be launched by Diwali this year. Be sure that the company will also bring in a diesel variant of the same in the market soon after its launch. But currently the problem with Renault vehicles is their pricing. The first two products from the French carmaker attract heavy pricing primarily because of CBU import. In the future, prices are expected to come down because the vehicles will be built in India.
