In the year 2019, we saw a glimpse of various Electric Vehicles showcased by renowned Automobile Manufacturers. Hyundai launched Kona Electric, MG announced their second product for Indian Market, MG ZS EV and recently Tata introduced Nexon in an Electric Avatar. Now, Renault India has announced that they will be bringing their Electric Car, Zoe, in the Indian Market.
Renault Zoe will be showcased in February at the upcoming Auto Expo 2020 in Noida. The car is currently being tested and modified to make it suitable for our conditions, for the Indian conditions.
The first cars to go on sale are likely to be partly assembled in India and are expected to come with a 90hp electric motor and a 41kWh battery. A good performance is expected despite the kerb weight of around 1.5 tonnes and the Zoe could have a range of around 300-350km per charge.
Zoe EV is expected to be a bit expensive, at around Rs 14-16 lakh ex- showroom. Expect to be having space similar to the i20 hatchback and quality on the inside might be similar too. Still, for those who want an effective electric vehicle for the city, this car could be just what’s needed in a country like India.
Along with Renault Zoe EV, the company will showcase other models to be soon launched in India in the year 2020.
