Rolls-Royce crossover named Cullinan that received nod for the production from officials a month back is now reported of undergoing the tests soon. As per the pictures sent out officially by the company, it is the Phantom Series II shortened and deployed with a rear wing. The prototype is created to study the design of crossover with regards to its ride and handling based on the new dynamics.
Reportedly, the testing of Cullinan will commence soon, which apparently means the spy-shots are on the brink of arriving in the coming weeks. Engineers are developing new suspensions that will lend the high-sided Rolls a carpet like feel on and off the tarmac. Equal amount of time are allotted for both the tests (on-and-off the road). Firstly, the Cullinan’s road-stability will get tested, followed by the drive on surfaces like Belgian Pave, corrugated concrete, noise development and measurement surfaces, cobblestones, resonance road, acceleration bumps and more to check the new suspensions on duty.
Hence, it must turn interesting to see a luxury carmaker ventures into the segment of SUV. But, no doubt the V12 engine may not make an exception if all the technical gimmicks fall rightly in the place.
