The upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 have been unveiled in Australia. Down under, the bikes have been priced at 10,000 and 10,400 Australian dollars respectively.
Both the bikes are powered by 8 valve, air/oil-cooled, 648cc parallel twin engine producing a peak power of 47bhp and a peak torque of 52Nm. Power from the engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission, which has been developed specifically for these bikes.
The Continental 650 GT and Interceptor 650 carry many firsts for Royal Enfield. One of them is the ‘slip/assist clutch system which makes for easy riding in traffic and prevents wheel hop while downshifting of gears.
As far as India launch of these bikes are concerned, while Royal Enfield hasn’t made any announcement yet, it is being speculated that these two bikes would be launched here in April this year.
