The Indian wing of Scania, world’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer has been awarded with the reputed 2012 Apollo CV Prime Mover of the Year award. The Award has been given to its R 500 6×4 heavy duty puller. The award ceremony took place on 7th of January 2013 in Mumbai along with the big names of the commercial vehicle segment in Indian market. Every year Apollo Tyres along with the CV magazine awards the excellence among the Indian automakers in the commercial segment with the Apollo CV Awards.
Scania R500 6×4 heavy-duty puller has received the title of the 2012 Prime Mover of the Year in the over 40 tonne GCW category. The award has been received by Mr. Sivakumar V., Sales Director of Scania Commercial Vehicles India, in the presence of Suresh Ekambaram, Director of after sales and Saravanan Malayandi, Pre sales manager. Sivakumar also thanked Nextgen publishing and the 2012 Apollo CV award jury for their trust and interest in their vehicle.
Expressing his delight on the occasion, Mr. Sivakumar told that this award is the testimony to their commitment to deliver the best products to customers and Industries as company continue to grow. The company is continuing its efforts to provide enhanced product support for the industry as the company tries to expand its presence in the global market. He also said that the award further strengthens the company’s strategy to redefine India’s truck industry by joining hands with the local experts to provide practical and customer friendly technologies and changes designed to suit local market.
According to the report, the Sweden based commercial vehicle manufacturer has kept a sum of about 2.5 billion rupee for investing in the industrial unit situated in Bengaluru this year. the company has also aiming to sell about 2,000 units of truck, 1,500 engines and 1,000 buses every year in the Indian auto market by 2018.
