Skoda Auto India announced a 98% growth in their sales for July, compared to the same period a year ago. Their total sales in July were around 2,412 vehicles in comparison to July 2010’s 1,222 vehicles sold. The company has been proving to be a competitive global auto player across all segments in the Indian auto market. It will be launching two new models in India this year, which include the highly anticipated Laura RS, as well as an entry level sedan.
The company board member of marketing and sales, Thomas Kuehl, was quoted as saying that in spite of the tough conditions in the market, they have managed to achieve a healthy rate of growth. Their emphasis on superior technology and quality helps to create a distinctive identity for their products. Because of their continued focus on dealership network, improved experience of after sales and customer experience, they will surely maintain a healthy rate of growth going forward.
The Czech auto manufacturer is trying to double their global sales to around 1.5mn vehicles by 2018. The company is also looking forward to the Indian auto market for helping them realise this objective by contributing towards a significant percentage of share in their sales figures globally. The company is also working on its after sales service and dealership network for enhancing the experience of their customers, while also reaching larger groups of customers pan India. Currently the company has around 81 showrooms located across India. Skoda also stated that their Yeti Performance Drive is to be extended to include other markets such as Mumbai, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR and Ahmedabad.
